A one hour lecture in which award winning curator Sam Belinfante will provide an overview of his approach to the curation of art works in which the prominent feature is sound.
Course Leader Dr Sam Belinfante is an artist living and working in London. Along with filmmaking and photographic work, his practice incorporates curating, sound and performance. Exhibitions include This is a Voice at MAAS Sydney and Wellcome Collection, London (2016-17); The Curves of the Needle at BALTIC 39, Newcastle and The London Open at Whitechapel Gallery, both 2015. He curated and participated in The Voice and The Lens, Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, which toured to Whitechapel Gallery as part of Spitalfields Festival in June 2014. Recently Belinfante won the Hayward Touring Curatorial Open. He is Director of the Centre for Audio Visual Experimentation (CAVE) and an Academic Fellow in Fine Art and Curatorial Practice at the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, University of Leeds
