In March 2026, Coventry Artspace worked with consultant Dave Charlesworth to produce a survey to understand Coventry artists’ space needs. We had 89 responses from across the creative sector and at different stages of their careers.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Coventry Artspace is committed to advocating for and, when possible, securing creative space for artists in the city. The information gathered by the survey has helped shape our thinking about artist workspace and continues to inform our approach. It also gives weight to our advocacy work.

Since the survey Coventry Artspace has had to move out our Eaton House home and into storage at the Skydome, whilst we go through a period of re-grouping. We have not solved the space dilemma yet and so, whilst we keep working on this, we are operating as a nomadic organisation with events and activities taking place in different arts and community venues around the city. Information about our current programme of activities as part of the British Art Show 10 fringe programme can be found here.
We’re also fundraising for a programme of activity next year (while we continue to seek access to creative space for artists). It’s important to us that our programme ideas are informed by the priorities and interests of local artsts, so we’d love your contribution to another very quick – 5 minutes – survey, if you have a moment –
