Photography Workshop with Madeleine Snowdon

June 8, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Meet at Arcadia gallery, then walk the city exploring through a lens of social connection and personal memory.

During this workshop, led by local artist Madeleine Snowdon, participants will be invited to meet at Arcadia gallery to walk the city exploring through a lens of social connection and personal memory. This walk will encourage participants to take photographs of their favourite places, places that reside in their memory, or locations that they find interesting or beautiful within the city, capturing architecture, incidental passing figures and even themselves.

The walk will end after 30 – 45 mins at Eaton House where participants will be able to print their photographs onto clear acetates and create their own ‘place-self portraits’ of themselves and of Coventry. Finally, at the end of the workshop, participants will work together to create a collaborative shared image of Coventry.

Participants will need to bring with them a smartphone or camera and a water bottle, and wear suitable shoes and clothing for walking. Please contact Madeleine Snowdon at msnowdon.art@gmail.com if you would like to take part but do not have access to a smartphone or camera to arrange for one to be borrowed.

This workshop accompanies the Artist On My Street Exhibition (27 May – 11 June) at Arcadia Gallery, 32 City Arcade, Coventry CV1 3HW.
Funded by: Arts Council England & Coventry City of Culture Trust
