Coventry’s response to BAS 10: Coventry Art Show

September 25, 2026 by Coventry Artspace

British Art Show 10: A Chorus of Strangers | Hayward Gallery Touring | Southbank Centre

British Art Show 10 is launching in Coventry and will run from 2nd October 2026 to 10th January 2027 at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum,  the Mead Gallery, University of Warwick, and the Delia Derbyshire Building, School of Arts & Creative Industries, Coventry University. It’s not often that the Southbank comes to Coventry on this scale – so exciting!

And Coventry Artspace could not be more delighted to be contributing to the Coventry Art Show, which is a programme of activity designed as a local response to the city hosting British Art Show 10.

Coventry Art Show is organised around the three curatorial themes of the the main exhibition: Coventry Biennial are leading on the Moments of Being strand, SOMA a collection project centering on black art and culture, is leading on the Ways of Living strand and Talking Birds are leading on the States of Nature strand.

CAS’s activities will be part of the States of Nature strand. We’ll be running a special programme of five First Thursday events with speakers, plus five artist-led Workshop Wednesdays. Additionally, in October, November and December we’re inviting artists to give us their take on British Art Show 10 with an instagram reel.

BAS 10 Spotlight – instagram reels

Post a reel and tag Coventry Artpsace and Coventry Art Show so that we can find your entry. Each month in November, December and January, we’ll choose two favourite reels. Each creator will receive £25, and we’ll share both reels on our account. To be considered for a cash prize in November, post your reels by 31st October.

States of Nature First Thursdays

At each First Thursday an artist, curator or arts leader will be invited to give their perspective on the States of Nature theme and how it resonates with their practice. And, of course, there will be the usual opportunity for artists of all kinds and backgrounds to network and share thoughts, ideas and experiences.
