March 23, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Book Tickets here

Tess Radcliffe is an artist whose creative practise and research interests explore the relationship between landscape and technology, and particularly where the natural world and wildlife intersects and interacts with urban, suburban, retail, and industrial spaces and places.

Having worked in several art galleries, museums, archives, and libraries across the West Midlands, including Wolverhampton Arts, Culture & Heritage Service, The Barber Institute of Fine Arts (University of Birmingham), King Edwards VI College, Birmingham Central Library, New Art Gallery Walsall and Ikon, Tess now works freelance as an artist, consultant, curator, and creative educator for organisations such as Outside In, Coventry Art Space, New Art Gallery Walsall and Newhampton Arts Centre.

Tess’s talk will outline her own career path within the arts sector, particularly with regards to issues around economic poverty, learning as a mature student, gender, and social class, her writing and academic research interests which focus on interrogating interpretations of still life painting and in particular the genre’s relationship to revolutions, class and gender, and her creative practise within the context of the current exhibition, the Outside In Collections and the British Folk Art Collection at Compton Verney.
