Coventry Artspace is a charity dedicated to supporting the development of artists and strengthening the visual arts in Coventry.

Originally established in 1991 by a group of graduates and artists seeking space to create, the organisation first found its home at 16 Lower Holyhead Road. This former Friends Meeting House, owned by Coventry City Council since the 1930s, provided studio spaces, community workshops, exhibition areas, storage, and meeting rooms for Artspace members.  Despite years of wear and tear – the building remained a much-loved and resilient home for Coventry Artspace for many years, symbolising the need for creativity and collaboration that continues to define us today.

Since 2009, we’ve been a registered charity, and for the past decade we’ve been based at Eaton House, where we provide affordable studios for up to 22 artists, and a project space for exhibitions, workshops and events.  Our mission is to enable artists to create, exhibit and grow through space, support and collaboration. Working with partners across Coventry, we raise the profile of the visual arts, build community, and create development opportunities for the artists we work with.

Artist-led since 1991, Coventry Artspace continues to be a space where artists come together to develop and support the contemporary arts practice in the city.
