Sofa Zoom ‘sorry we are close(d)’

March 12, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sofa Zoom is an invitation to chill with artistic directors, artists, cultural workers, scholars, curators, and Trustees of Arts organisations invited by melissandre varin.

To feed conversations melissandre varin share a short film of their new installations at Arcadia Gallery raising questions of self-exposure, collective grief and healing, and the importance of working in relation with peers. In the context of a never coming ‘post-Covid’, an ever awaited Afro revolution, and arts venues remaining closed this Sofa Zoom is an extension of hope.

Ryan Hughes (artistic director Coventry Biennial)

Cécilia Bracmort (French Canadian curator and visual artist with Caribbean origins)

Cory Barrett (Coventry Artspace Trustee and Design Consultant), and

Victor Iringere (MiFriendly Cities. Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre)

melissandre varin (artist resident at Arcadia Gallery)

PLEASE NOTE: The event will be recorded. If you prefer to not appear in the video you can turn your camera off during the event. There will be zero tolerance for homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, islamophobic, or derogatory behaviour.
