We are delighted to launch #ArtspaceWindows as part of the The Make it West Midlands Midsummer Festival. While we are unable to open our exhibition spaces we are inviting our Artist Listings artists to use the windows at our city centre spaces, The Row and Arcadia, to show their work and bring some creativity to our city’s neglected streets.
The first exhibition in the #ArtspaceWindows is I Release My Colours by Ije. Alongside this exhibition of Ije’s lastest mixed media artwork I Release My Colours 2: Survivor are two poems. A Life of Colour can be found in a window at The Row, and I Release My Colours at Arcadia. You can also enjoy a trip to Ije’s garden and studio in the short video below and hear her perform her the poems. Alongside the exhibition there is a fascinating blog from Ije considering her response to the ideas of German philosopher Theodor Adorno.
Ije is also taking part in the #ArtistSupportPledge
