Print Sculpture Workshop with Janet Tryner

In this explorative workshop with Janet, you are encouraged to investigate intriguing shapes and textures of waste using intaglio collograph printing methods with a low-toxic soy-based printing ink and a variety of papers. Then experiment with cutting, tearing and using paper-only joining techniques to make your prints into colourful printed paper sculpture.

Janet is a contemporary artist based in Leamington Spa and Coventry who is interested in land. Part of her practice is to document the objects she finds on the ground by printing from them and exploring their potential for interweaving with each other by creating paper sculpture.

Objects that Janet has used previously in her work will be provided to work with but please feel free to bring your own finds along with you to experiment with too. Objects that work well are flattish, such as leaves, polythene and sweet wrappers, but we will give anything a go if we think it won’t break the press! 

All other materials, and protective equipment such as latex-free gloves and aprons, will be provided.
